Your 21 day Italy to Venice and the Dalmatian Coast Cruise Tour is fully escorted and departs and returns to Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne. Experience the exceptional service that is the hallmark of Emirates Airways aboard your luxury A380 aircraft to Dubai for a direct flight into Rome. Rest overnight before we board our luxury coach and travel past Rome (additional experiences in Rome are available upon return to Rome) to Orvietto. We take the funicular to the town square and then walk through the old town to the magnificent Gothic Cathedral for a guided tour, afterwhich, we return to our coach and travel to Perugia for our overnight stay at the Hotel La Rosetta.

After breakfast we explore this beautiful city making our way to the Piazza IV Novembre and to the Cathedral San Lorenzo. We have free time to explore and shop before we meet once again at the Mini Metro station for our unique transfer to our coach. We drive by the beautiful Lake Castiglione en route to Siena for our overnight stay.

Your guide will show you the best of Siena in the morning, after which, enjoy a coffee or a light lunch in the sunshine from one of the many restaurants on the famous Siena Piazza. After lunch we depart, travelling through beautiful Tuscany to the City of Towers or Gimignano and then on to magnificent Florence.

We enjoy a walking tour of Florence where we have a special “no lines” entry to admire the statue of David at the Academia. Then the Duomo, the markets and over the Ponta Vecchia. Admire the magnificence of Florence from the Michaelangelo Lookout before departing for Bologna and on to Verona for our overnight stay.

We take in the slights and sounds of this beautiful city of Verona, the Colosseum and the Romeo and Juliette balcony before making our way to Venice. We stay at the Venezia Mercure Hotel just off the Venice island and then embark upon a half day tour of beautiful Venice this afternoon.

We explore Venice with its palazzos, bridges and famous canals. Wander the piazzas and alleys or glide through the narrow canals in a gondola in your free time. A guided city tour is a good choice for first-timers, typically taking in the Basilica San Marco, the Doges’ Palace, the Bridge of Sighs, the Ponte di Rialto and the Basilica Museum.

Transfer to your beautiful ship, the 5 star Celebrity Constellation and unpack in your luxury Concierge Balcony cabin suites. The afternoon is free to further explore Venice or perhaps an excursion to visit Murano, the centre of Venetian glassmaking.

Enjoy a third day in Venice before your afternoon departure sailing past St Mark’s Square into the Adriatic Sea to the major ports of the Dalmatian Coast. There is a full day in each port with time to explore or to take a ship tour to specific highlights.

Sail across the Adriatic to Ravenna in Italy where you can explore on your own or take our special tour to Bologna.

Then visit Koper in Slovenia. It is located in southwestern Slovenia, on the Gulf of Trieste, at the northern end of the Adriatic Sea. The old city centre is well preserved; built around a grid of medieval squares and the remains of an ancient city wall. The main square is home to the largest cathedral in Slovenia, the Cathedral of St. Nazarius. You can also tour the Praetor Palace, in the Venetian Gothic style and dating from the 15th century, or visit the 12th century Carmine Rotunda church.

We sail to the ancient city of Zadar, a visit is like peeling back layers of time until you end up in the 9th century BC in ancient Illyria. The modern city and its history you will find enchanting.

Then to Split in Croatia. This busy port is also a popular resort with beaches and pleasant promenades. Venetian, Gothic and Renaissance houses and several medieval churches add architectural interest. A must-see is the old town within Diocletian’s Palace.

The city of Kotor in Croatia is a must as it is one of the most spectacular Mediterranean sceneries where the Adriatic Sea goes a long way inland through a deep cove enclosed with hills and cliffs. For this reason Kotor is also called “the most southern fjord of Europe”. The scenery is breathtaking and the location of this city is at least unique.

But the “Jewel of the Adriatic” on the Dalmatian Coast is Dubrovnik in Croatia with its rich Baroque, Gothic and Renaissance architecture. The medieval Mediterranean city is encircled by 14th-century walls and massive guard towers, and the carefully preserved old town features marble-paved squares, cobbled streets and splendid churches, palaces, monasteries and fountains.

You’ll enjoy the restful day at sea after your visit to six ports of interest down the Dalmatian Coast. This sea day takes us to the Mediterranean Island of Malta, and to its capital city Valletta.

Then we sail for Catania situated on the western shore of the Messina Strait, this port is the gateway to Sicily. Catania’s principal attractions include the Duomo, its adjoining bell tower and the local museum on the northern outskirts of the city. Train-ferries, car-ferries and hydrofoils make the connection across the Strait of Messina to Reggio Calabria on the Italian mainland, with excursions available to Taormina, Mount Etna and the mainland.

We then set sail for Naples, one of the world’s greatest cultural centres, filled with extraordinary works of art and architecture in the classical Greek and Roman styles. Several interesting tours are available of the city itself and the fascinating places that lie just outside of Naples. While you’re in the area, you’ll want to visit Pompeii, one of the most famous excavation sites in the world. Take a short boat trip to the entrancing Isle of Capri, or, take a ride up the Amalfi Coast with its ocean views and beautiful vistas, it’s one of the most breathtaking stretches of road in the world.

You’ll experience the beauty of the Adriatic and the ports of the Dalmatian Coast before returning to Rome. Your flights home on wonderful Emirates are via Dubai, why not add a stop over for a couple of days – we are happy to make all arrangements for you at cost. Alternately you may wish to stay a couple of days in Rome before starting the journey home – the choice is yours!

A “once in a lifetime opportunity” to cruise the DALMATION COAST visiting Italy (Rome to Venice) in total luxury.
